Our lives depend on it!

Last year, Earth was the hottest ever recorded. And despite all the talk about climate action, greenhouse gas emissions and atmospheric levels both hit new highs. The climate crisis is starting to hit home for Australia. In fact, we're on the frontlines - searing summer heat, catastrophic bushfires, droughts, floods, and ocean heatwaves bleaching the Great Barrier and Ningaloo Reefs. We’re already paying the price through lost livelihoods and incomes, higher grocery prices and insurance premiums. And then there's the catastrophic impacts on Nature. That's why this federal election is so important. It might be our last chance to turn things around before it's too late.

COâ‚‚ Levels Are the Highest in Human History

NOAA just recorded CO₂ concentrations of over 430 ppm at Mauna Loa in Hawaii. That’s more than 50% higher than pre-industrial levels. It’s the highest levels in three million years. These are much more than abstract numbers - they something that directly hits Australia’s prosperity, security and way of life. Anthony Albanese seems too scared to talk about it. And Peter Dutton has promised to pull apart the few good measures that Labor has put in place.

Last year, the global average temperature hit 1.46°C above pre-industrial levels, pushing dangerously close to the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C limit. The oceans, which absorb over 90% of the planet’s excess heat, are now warmer than ever. And their capacity to absorb more heat is closing. This is not just a global ocean issue - Australia’s marine life, reefs, and coastal communities are already suffering. Mass coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef is becoming an almost annual event.

We're all feeling the costs. Rising grocery prices due to crop failures. Insurance premiums skyrocketing and being refused due to extreme weather risks. The strain on our health from heat stress, mosquito-borne diseases, and mental health impacts.

The world is approaching dangerous tipping points that, if passed, risk runaway climate change. Melting ice caps and collapsing forests will turbo-charge the climate crisis. And this will happen in our children's lifetimes. That's why we don’t have time for half-measures, delays, slogans or nuclear scams. We need a parliament that treats climate action as a national priority, not a political inconvenience or football. That means:

  • Ending coal and gas subsidies and exports

  • Accelerating the shift to 100% clean energy

  • Protecting and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity

  • Electrifying transport and infrastructure

  • Investing in resilience and adaptation, especially for vulnerable communities

  • Supporting First Nations climate leadership.

Vote for the Climate. Like Never Before.

This election isn’t just about party politics - it’s about survival, justice, and the legacy we leave. Don’t vote for candidates who deny the science. Don’t vote for those propping up fossil fuel billionaires. Don't vote for distraction, division and delay. Vote for your kids. Vote for our forests. Vote for farmers and firefighters. Vote for the reef and our rainforests. Vote for clean and affordable energy, and a future we can be proud to hand over.

Vote for climate action like never before. Because we won’t get a second chance.
