On Day Two of my #eBike4Australia journey, I smashed out over 130km and am now more than 200km from Perth. The highlight after starting my ride at 5am, was cycling into Dryandra Woodlands at midday. It’s one of the few places left in Australia that our endangered numbats call home. Keep an eye out for a renewable energy project proposal that I will share tomorrow on how you can help me support them. Hopefully I’ll also have photos of numbats I spotted.
The next best thing was meeting Linda and Andrew who were trying out their new second-hand caravan at Wandering. They really reminded me of the Australian spirit of friendship and generosity. In addition to sharing their power with me to top up my batteries, Linda made me coffee and a toad-in-the-hole bacon and egg sandwich with sweet chilli sauce. Just what I needed after having cycled 100km.
And finally, meeting this Shingleback lizard on the road reminded me of the Finally dance scene in the movie Priscilla Queen of the Desert. (One of Australia’s best movies I reckon).
